What is Organ and Tissue Donation?
Organ donation is the process of taking a healthy organ out of one person and transferring it to another body who is at risk of facing life-altering affects if it isn't received. There are several ways for you to become an Organ Donor. You could do anything from donating blood to a kidney while still being alive. There are many organs that can be donated after an individual has passed away. These include: heart, liver, lungs, kidney, pancreas, intestines and brain tissue.
Who can donate?
Everyone can donate, and all are donations are greatly appreciated! Any race, age, gender, or person with a medical history can donate their organs. However, if under the age of 18, parent consent is required.
